Operation School Bell is the signature philanthropy of Assistance League of Pueblo. Our volunteers work all year long to see that deserving children in both District 60 and District 70 schools get to start the school year wearing new school clothes.
The 2017 event took place from September 11 through September 15 at the Pueblo K-Mart. Assistance League volunteers spent months planning and coordinating this amazing philanthropic program. In recent years, we have served approximately 1200 children each year. Since the inception of this program, we have provided new clothing to more than 37,000!
The program could not succeed without the support of every Assistance League member and the support of the Pueblo City and Pueblo County school counselors. The counselors refer the children to Assistance League based on need. Assistance League then provides each child with a voucher that will allow the child to shop for his or her own school clothes.
Operation School Bell is a labor of love for the Assistance League members.
